The Board of directors of IHSS is proposing changes to 2 articles of the Bylaws.
1. The Board sees a need to respond to the desire for creation of a category of corporate membership in Article II.
2. The membership meetings have never been used to enact policies by voting on issues and it is often very difficult obtain a quorum. The board is suggesting changes in Article V that will bring the bylaws in line with actual practice of membership meetings. The meetings are where the board presents reports of activities and decisions made and obtains input from members and enters into a discussion with members.
Resolution of questions of amending the bylaws requires a vote of the membership. Voting will be available, only for members who paid the 2024 fee, from August 10 (00:00 GMT+9) to August 20 (23:59 GMT+9), accessing their account and clicking on “Vote”.
